HAPPY NURSES WEEK – CELEBRATING ALL OUR EARTHLY ANGELS ALL OVER THE WORLD.
https://bringingbedsideback.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Happy-Nurses-Week.mp4
Thank you!!! My heart is filled with so much gratitude toward you for the love and care that you provide as a bedside nurse. You help save many lives. You help the body, mind and spirit heal faster. Your words of encouragement give hope and bring strength that causes the patients to fight harder. So thank you. Words are not enough for me to express my gratitude toward you for what you do as a bedside nurse on a daily basis. I know that the call bell rings so many times, that you experience call bell fatigue. A patient has an invasive procedure and is now anxious, so you took time off your busy schedule to sit at the bedside to help calm her down.
Another just had a bowel movement and you need help right away, as you do not want him to remain in his feces to cause additional skin break down. You were supposed to go on your break an hour ago but your 6 th patient is now threatening to leave against medical advice. There is not enough staff today to assist you, so as the sagacious nurse that you are you are thinking quickly on your feet. You now feel the urge to use the restroom but someone alerted you that a patient’s family is on the phone. So I get it, it can get so overwhelming at times that you feel like giving up.
Then you encounter the family member over the phone that cannot stop telling you how much his appreciates your care toward his elderly mother. And you remembered why you decided to be a nurse in the first place. Even though you are overwhelmed, you do your very best for the patient not to notice, as you prefer to maintain a clam healing spirit the can create a positive environment. You do so much, too much for me to mention. Today, I come to say thank you nurse. You are strong, brave, resilient, courageous, patient, tolerant, wise, sagacious, and intelligent, you show love and care in such a way that the patients feel as if you are family. You are indeed a superhero. I honor you. No amount of money can ever be enough to equate the degree of challenges that you are faced with and overcome on a daily bases. You truly love what you do. Thank you for choosing to become a bedside nurse. For your unconditional love and care, I thank you. I do not know how long you intend to work as a bedside nurse, but I entreat you to continue to provide the best care you possibly can to every patient despite the challenges you may face.
Remember, you are God’s gift to humanity and an angel to your patients. Always bear in mind that every patient is a VIP, therefore, provide the same degree of care as you would to your loved ones whom you adore. Whatever you do unto your patients you are doing it as unto Christ. The Lord will never give you more than what you can handle. If God has called you to be a bedside nurse, then answer the call with no reservations. Let the Lord lead you. He takes care of me everyday as a proud bedside nurse; therefore, he will do the same for you. Comment below and let us help each other be bedside- strong. If you are a seasoned nurse, kindly share ways in which you have learned to cope with bedside challenges.
If you are new, please share. If you are a nursing student I trust that you will learn different strategies that will help you appreciate the bedside if you ever end up there. I understand that bedside nursing is one of the most if not the most challenge field of nursing, however, I can see that you have chosen this profession because you love caring for people.
I am curious though. What are some ways in which you cope with the day-to-day challenges as a bedside nurse?
How do you overcome these challenges?
Patients should not suffer due to your dislike for bedside nursing. In everything that you do, for however long you do it, ensure that it is done to the best of your ability. If every nurse decides that bedside is not for them then who will take care of our loved ones, your loved ones. Wouldn’t you want a nurse who care do not mind answering the call bell evertime your confused grandmother rings? I hope you get my point. It does not matter how long you intend to remain a bedside nurse, I do urge you to If you intend to remain a bedside nurse for 6 moths 2 years 10 years. It does not matte how long, I just emplore you that you do your very best to care for eah patient with the respect and dignity that they deserve irresepective of their mental status, religious or sexual preferences. Every patient is important. Every patient is a VIP. Yes, you may have to answer the call bell 10 or 20 times, yes, you may if nurses do not appreciate bedside nursing then who will take care of the world?
Who will take care of your loved ones. Wouldt you want a nurse who loves being at the bedside, a nurse who does not mind answering the call be , bringing you a blanket
